Providence, R.I. –
It's hard to characterize the music of the Rhode Island based band Death Vessel. The radio station WNYC has called it familiar yet strange, personal yet abstract. And The Denver Post's Reverb blog has described the music as leaving "a unique taste in the air" and "an urge to hear more." Joel Thibodeau, a Berlin, Germany born and Kennebunkport raised musician, is the driving force behind the band. He recently returned to the state after touring on the west coast, in the Midwest and Canada, and sat down for an interview with Morning Edition Host Bob Seay. You can hear the interview on June 24, during Rhode Island Artscape on Morning Edition. In this video, Thibodeau plays the song "Block My Eye."
