Woonsocket fire ruled arson
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Woonsocket fire investigators say Sunday's blaze that destroyed part of an abandoned mill was deliberately set.
The six alarm fire at the former Seville Dye Company broke out shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday and took firefighters from half a dozen towns five hours to put out.
Woonsocket Fire Lt. Francis Dunton says the arson finding was reached by the process of elimination. There were no utilities in the building and no lightning that day.
A five thousand dollar reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the fire bug.
