Roberts Endorses Gorbea for Secretary of State

Nellie Gorbea is touting an endorsement from Elizabeth Roberts, Rhode Island's first female lieutenant governor, as Gorbea tries to become the state's first Latina secretary of state.

Roberts, who is poised to leave public office in 2015 after two terms as lieutenant governor, is co-chairing a Women for Nellie fundraiser on March 3 at Embolden Design in Pawtucket. The other co-chair is Embolden's owner, Ann-Marie Harrington. Suggested contributions for the event run from $50 to $1000.

Taveras & Raimondo Scrap on Super PAC Spending

A Super PAC supporting Raimondo was recently the recipient of a $100K gift.

Democratic gubernatorial candidates Angel Taveras and Gina Raimondo are sparring over campaign spending by independent third-party groups.

A Texas hedge fund billionaire, John Arnold, recently gave $100,000 to a super PAC backing Raimondo’s campaign for governor. Taveras’ campaign says if Raimondo wants to keep Wall Street and other special interests out of the race, she should call for the American LeadHERship PAC to return Arnold’s contribution.

Bill Clinton Expected to Headline March 11 NYC Fundraiser For Seth Magaziner

Former President Bill Clinton is expected to headline a March 11 fundraiser for treasurer candidate Seth Magaziner in New York City, according to Magaziner's campaign manager.

Magaziner's campaign manager, Evan England, says the venue for the fundraiser has yet to be finalized.
