Bridgeport, Connecticut's controversial Mayor, Joe Ganim, launched his official campaign for governor by filing with the State Elections Enforcement Commission on Wednesday, Jan. 3rd.

Ganim is launching his bid for governor despite being denied access to public funding for his campaign. The State Elections Enforcement Commission ruled that Ganim was not entitled to such funding because he is a convicted felon. This decision was upheld by state courts.
