Juanita Sanchez Education Complex

A 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection with with an assault by intruders at a Providence high school.

Police said the 15-year-old and another young man were let into the Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex through a side entrance on Wednesday and attempted to rob a student.

One of the young men hit the student in the head with a handgun, police said, before fleeing the building.

Tickets are available for First Lady Michelle Obama’s campaign visit to Rhode Island on Thursday, October 30. She will be speaking at the Juanita Sanchez  Educational Complex Thursday afternoon. The venue is at 182 Thurbers Avenue in Providence.

The First Lady will speaking at a Get Out the Vote Rally to support Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Raimondo.

Tickets can be obtained between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. from Monday, Oct. 27, through Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the following locations:

All this month, high schools across Rhode Island are holding graduation ceremonies, and there are many students who defied the odds to get to their graduation day. One of them is 18-year-old Rosa Ramos of Providence, who just got her diploma from the Juanita Sanchez Education Complex.
