Rhode Island’s Energy Facility Siting Board decided Tuesday morning during a hearing to exclude from evidence resolutions from 35 cities and towns opposing a proposed natural gas power plant in Burrillville.

Rhode Island’s Public Utilities Commission voted to raise the cost of energy at a public hearing Monday. 

Last month, National Grid proposed a 53 percent rate increase from 6.3 cents per kilowatt hour to 9.5 cents.
