12 years ago today, 100 people died, and hundreds more were injured in a fire at the Station nightclub in West Warwick. The fire made national headlines as one of the worst nightclub fires in U.S. history.  Survivors are still working to build a public memorial, and living with the scars from that night.

Wednesday marks the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America. The day will be observed with a solemn ceremony at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport.

The ceremony will honor eleven fallen Naval War College students and alumni who were killed on September 11, 2001.  It will feature a wreath laying and music from the Navy Band.

Speakers include U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel William Bestermann who participated in search and rescue efforts following the 9/11 attacks.
