Brown Poll: Providence Voters Bullish on Taveras, Less So on the Economy

Providence Mayor Angel Taveras continues to enjoy strong support from Providence voters, but most of them also consider city's economy to be rough shape, according to a new Brown University poll.

The poll shows that 59 percent of respondents think Taveras is doing a good or excellent job, down from 60 percent last year. About 40 percent don't think Taveras is doing a good job.

Brown Poll Shows Raimondo Leading Potential Governor's Race Among

A new Brown University poll shows state Treasurer Gina Raimondo leading Providence Mayor Angel Taveras among likely Democratic primary voters.  Raimondo and Taveras are expected to square off in a gubernatorial primary next September.

Brown pollsters talked with 433 likely Democratic primary voters. In a two-way matchup, 42 percent of respondents say they’d vote for Raimondo, just under 34 percent prefer Taveras, and 24 percent were undecided. That poll has a margin of error of four and a half percentage points.

Brown Poll Shows Raimondo Leading Taveras Among Likely Democratic Voters

With 11 months until Rhode Island's Democratic gubernatorial primary next September, a new Brown University poll shows state Treasurer Gina Raimondo with an eight percentage point lead over Providence Mayor Angel Taveras.

The survey of 433 likely Democratic primary voters has a 4.5 percentage point margin of error, and it shows Raimondo with 42 percent of the support, Taveras with 33.6 percent, while 24.4 percent of respondents remain undecided.

New Poll Shows Taveras Edging Out Raimondo In Potential Democratic Primary for Governor

A new poll shows Providence Mayor Angel Taveras edging out State treasurer Gina Raimondo in potential Democratic Governor's primary.

A new poll commissioned by Angel Taveras’ campaign organization shows Taveras with a significant lead over his expected Democratic primary rival for governor, Gina Raimondo.  The poll sampled 400 likely Democratic primary voters.

The poll by a Washington DC polling firm shows Taveras with a 19-point lead over Raimondo. According to the poll, 49 percent of the respondents want Taveras to be governor, while 30 percent prefer Raimondo. An additional 21 percent of respondents were undecided. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus five percentage points.
