A Providence man has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge for selling the illicit drug fentanyl - a potent painkiller sometimes laced in heroin - that led to a woman’s overdose death. It’s the first time Rhode Island prosecutors have brought murder charges in connection with an overdose death. But the trend is taking hold nationwide.

Roger Williams University To Lower Law School Tuition

Roger Williams University is taking a step you don’t hear about very often. It’s lowering its law school tuition by eighteen percent.

Roger Williams University Law School, like many around the country, has seen a significant drop in applications.   Not only is the price of law school prohibitive,  but those who can afford it often find it difficult to land jobs once they pass the bar.

Special Permit Needed Before RWU Can Use ProJo Building

Roger Williams University is pursuing negotiations to use part of the Providence Journal building at 75 Fountain Street. Since the building is not part of a City of Providence's institutional zone, a special use permit is needed before part of the structure could be re-purposed for university use, according to David Ortiz, spokesman for Mayor Angel Taveras.
