Langevin Hires Meg Fraser as his New Press Secretary

Meg Fraser, editor in chief for the Cranston Herald and Johnston Sun newspapers, has gotten the nod as US Representative Jim Langevin's press secretary, succeeding Jonathon Dworkin, who recently left for another job. She starts June 24.

[Fraser] is also Editor of PrimeTime magazine, a senior living publication.  She received a BA in Journalism from Northeastern University in 2008.

Driscoll heading to new gig, with Organizing for Action

Devin Driscoll, communications head for Rhode Islanders United for Marriage -- which led the grassroots campaign to legalize same-sex marriage -- is heading to a new job, as the Chicago-based Northeast regional director for Organizing for Action, the Democratic effort formerly known as Obama for America.

Tencher joining Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee as Campaign Director

West Warwick native Paul Tencher is set to become the campaign director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. The move comes after Tencher managed Democrat Joe Donnelly's winning Senate campaign in Indiana over Republican Richard Mourdock last year.

Tencher is expected to focus on aiding Democratic Senate candidates in states won last year by Mitt Romney.

Raimondo bringing in experienced campaign veteran as chief of staff

State Treasurer Gina Raimondo is hiring Andrew Roos, an experienced campaign operative who helmed Myrth York's 2002 gubernatorial general election campaign, as her chief of staff, RIPR has learned. The move is the latest signal that Raimondo is very likely to run for governor in 2014.

Raimondo's chief of staff since 2011, Joe Pratt, will reportedly get a different job within her office.

Another setback at EDC; Parsons asks out due to "serious health issue"

In the latest setback for the state Economic Development Corporation, Governor Lincoln Chafee's choice to lead the agency, William J. Parsons, has asked that his nomination we withdrawn due to a " recent serious health issue." Chafee has accepted the request by Parson, whose tenure with the EDC goes almost to the agency's inception.

Hourahan leaving Chafee administration for Family Service of RI

Stephen Hourahan, a top adviser to Governor Lincoln Chafee, is leaving the administration for a job as chief advancement officer with Family Service of Rhode Island.

Hourahan left Family Service in 2009 to join the successful Chafee for Governor campaign. He also served as Communications Director for then-Senator Lincoln Chafee and in a variety of positions for the late Senator John Chafee.
