George Zainyeh, whose departure as Governor Lincoln Chafee's chief of staff was announced last Friday, is taking a job, as chief marketing and development officer, with the law firm of Shectman Halperin Savage LLP.

Shectman Halperin Savage has offices in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York. Founding partner Jonathan Savage previously served as the receiver for Central Falls.

Central Falls Mayor James Diossa is appointing Matthew Jerzyk, formerly deputy city solicitor in Providence, as city solicitor in Central Falls, effective January 6.

Veteran Democratic fundraiser Amy Gabarra is assisting Clay Pell's exploratory committee to raise money, in the latest sign that Pell may pursue a run for governor in 2014.

Gabarra helped Democratic gubernatorial candidate Frank Caprio to assemble the largest war chest in the 2010 race for governor. She's also worked for David Cicilline, Lincoln Chafee and Bill Lynch, among others.
