A civil engineer and private pilot will be the next president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. Kelly Fredericks is currently overseeing expansion at the airport in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Fredericks has held leadership positions at airports in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Erie Pennsylvania.   He’s currently with a consulting group managing the construction of a new terminal down at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

A new art exhibit opened this past Wednesday (1/30) at Green Space gallery at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick.

The show, entitled “ON AND THROUGH AND IN BETWEEN” deals with dreams and memories, and features the work of two Rhode Island artists says the gallery director Lynne Harlow.

Air Canada will no longer be flying out of TF Green Airport. The carrier will suspend all service between Providence and Toronto this March. Rhode Island Airport Corporation interim President and CEO Peter Fraizer says it was the only scheduled international flight leaving the airport. But he doesn’t think it's suspension will be a blow to the airport’s image.

“You can get on any airline here and get to anywhere in the world," says Fraizer. "Whether we have a direct non-stop flight to Canada is a blow to TF Green’s image? I would beg to differ.”
