Rhode Island’s Commerce Corporation has chosen three public relations vendors to carry out the state’s upcoming tourism campaign.
The Commerce Corporation Board Monday voted to authorize agreements with NAIL Communications, the RDW Group, and NJF, an MMGY Global company.
Both NAIL and RDW Group are based in Providence. NJF is based in New York, with a satellite office in Boston. The three firms will work under separate, one-year contracts starting Wednesday, for a total of just over $3.1 million. They were selected from 36 applications to the Corporation’s request for proposals issued back in November.
Rhode Island Commerce Corporation’s Chief Marketing Officer, Lara Salamano, says the three firms will coordinate in executing the state’s tourism campaigns, including content creation, advertising and public relations.
This announcement comes almost a year after the botched rollout of an earlier tourism campaign, which introduced the widely ridiculed slogan "cooler and warmer."
